In “General Hospital” (GH) spoilers, there is some intriguing stretching of facts and skills to benefit Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and save Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), but that is standard procedure.
Carly never fails to get her way, and with the assistance of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), they’ve set up a trap where they can bait and threaten to publicly discredit the judge who sentenced Drew.
They anticipate two outcomes from this: either the judge will give in to their pressure and overturn the decision, or a different judge will research him, grant the appeal, and modify the sentence.
The fact is, neither should happen and wouldn’t outside of a soap opera, but that’s never stopped it from happening again.
But this opens another possibility, and that’s where Carly and even Alexis get themselves into trouble.
Carly’s behind bars
The judge might videotape his visit to make sure nothing strange was going on, or he could bring an assistant or someone else to keep an eye on things. That would be the most dramatic and realistic course of action for the show.
Although that’s not something we’d typically see, it makes logical that the judge, who has such a large ego, would want his own people present to record what is said in this particular case.
Spoilers for “General Hospital” warn that if Alexis or Carly push too hard—something Carly often does—he might decide to accuse them of attempting to blackmail him, and things will take a bad turn from there.
Where she belongs
This won’t be a popular opinion, but Carly belongs in jail for insider trading. She did it. She knows it, she admits it, and she dodged her punishment because Drew threw himself on his sword.
He also pulled a garbage human being move by sacrificing years with his child for Carly and even offered to give his kid’s financial future to Carly to pay her bills.
Seriously. And no one on the show except Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) had an issue with any of that? Granted, Sam eventually came around because Carly always gets her way, and that’s a huge failing by the writers.
When Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) contacts Carly to find out who turned her in, he might find out that she was turned in, and he might also find out that Drew’s partner wants him in the whole thing.
Though it’s likely the authors would choose the easy route, this would provide for some amazing drama as we get to watch everyone knocked down and forced to fight their way back to freedom and their lives.
