Anna Devane finally got some sweet justice.

The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, December 19, 2023, features Anna’s life of terror may soon end now that she’s arrested Brennan and his lackey.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Also in this episode, Cyrus heard a secret, Nina turned the tables, Brook Lynn’s parents bonded over her, Carly held her own, and Donna made a precious request. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.

Anna Played The Game

Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) were at the docks waiting for her contact when Roman (Mark Engelhardt) jumped into action. He turned the corner, pulled the trigger, and tried to shoot his target. Luckily, Anna and Dante weren’t struck.

Anna managed to negotiate a cease-fire as she came out of hiding. She offered Roman the key to the safety deposit box as Dante snuck behind him. Just as Roman was about to accept, Dante hit him from behind! Once on the ground, Roman was begging for a plea deal.

Anna and Dante demanded to know where Brennan was, but Roman wasn’t spilling. Luckily, Sam (Kelly Monaco) had arrived, and she had an idea. She told them all about Carly recognizing Brennan’s picture as her new regular at Kelly’s. Off they went to track him down.

It was all very good timing for Carly since things were going sour at the pub. She welcomed Brennan in for some after-hours eats. He picked up her phone and saw she was researching him. Oops. His secret was out, now, what was he going to do about her?

Carly went straight into fight mode, knocking Brennan upside the head with a pizza pan. He no sooner got up to counterattack when Anna, Dante, and Sam burst through the door with their guns drawn.

Brennan was placed in cuffs, but that didn’t stop him from mocking Anna. He wanted to make sure she went down in flames, too. He reminded her she also wasn’t without secrets.

Dangerous Plays

Nina (Cynthia Watros) rushed to Ava’s (Maura West) apartment to beg her for help with her Michael/Ned situation. Ava had no answers; she was dealing with a lot right now, too. After showing her the gun and explaining the note, Nina realized Ava had a very dangerous stalker.

The ladies joined their family at the Live Nativity performance. Also, there were Sonny (Maurice Benard), Michael (Chad Duell), Martin (Michael E. Knight), Laura (Genie Francis)…and Cyrus (Jeff Kober). Of course, Cyrus wasn’t welcome at all and was even stripped of his role in the play (thanks to Sonny).

Ava got a moment alone with Laura and asked about the search for Nikolas. Laura gave up. Her son would be home when he felt like it. There was nothing more to do.

As for Nina, she pulled Michael aside and gave him a taste of his own medicine. She told him of Ned’s blackmail (relive that moment here.) and demanded he help. If not, she’d wait for the truth to come out and let Carly know that Michael knew the whole time. Little did they know, Cyrus was eavesdropping and heard every single word about the secret Sonny doesn’t know.

Before taking the stage, sweet, little lamb, Donna (Scarlett Spears) worked to make her and her sister’s Christmas wish come true. She wanted to be with Avery for the holiday. Couldn’t Ava and Avery join them? Ava and Sonny promised to work it out.

A Grand Plan

Over at the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy (Jane Elliot) no sooner whispered to herself about missing Luke than the moment was interrupted by Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Lois (Rena Sofer). Tracy told BLQ that they had a meeting tomorrow. Time to train her protégé.

Ned (Wally Kurth) overheard the conversation and wasn’t too pleased. He settled down after Tracy left, and Lois and Brook Lynn told him the real plan. His daughter was shaping up to be a real Quartermaine!

As for Tracy, she went to the bar to grab a drink. She was stared down by Lucy (Lynn Herring) — who was sharing wine (and whine) with Kevin (Jon Lindstrom). Tracy grabbed a seat, and Scott (Kin Shriner) — who was tired of ragging on Lucy — decided to join her. They talked about a shared past, which Tracy didn’t appreciate, so she threw her drink at him.

No sooner did Tracy storm out than Laura arrived, sans Martin, who was supposed to join too. Lucy was disappointed.
