NCIS Season 21 is ready to premiere this February after being delayed by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes last year.
To promote the upcoming release, NCIS dropped new photos and a synopsis for the next season, which will debut on Feb. 12.
The first episode will pick up right where Season 20 left off.
Per Showbiz Cheatsheet, “In NCIS Season 20, Torres went deep undercover as a prison inmate in an attempt to stop a Russian terrorist plot. Fortunately, he and the NCIS team managed to prevent an attack. But the trouble wasn’t over for Torres. While behind bars, he spotted a man from his past visiting a fellow prisoner. The young inmate, who was serving time for fraud, told Torres that the man was his mom’s boyfriend who was supposedly helping with his case, but he didn’t trust him. Torres told the other inmate he was right to be suspicious and that he’d likely been framed.”
“Now, in the February 12 Season 21 premiere, ‘Algún Día,’ the team must help Torres when he puts his future at stake by confronting the man who tormented his family when he was a child,” TV Insider reported of the Season 21 premiere. “And a few of the photos from it have us wondering just what Torres has done by the time he returns to the office. How much will he tell the rest of the team? How much might they already know?”
Co-showrunner and executive producer David J. North told TV Insider, “Torres is out for revenge, even if it costs him his career — or worse, his life. The man is responsible for the tortured soul we know Torres to be. He has a lot of demons, and this man is by far the worst. Torres is on the cusp of making the worst mistake of his life.”
“Apart from Valderrama, the cast of NCIS Season 21 also includes Gary Cole as Alden Parker, Sean Murray as Timothy McGee, Katrina Law as Jessica Knight, Rocky Carroll as Leon Vance, Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer, and Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines,” Yahoo! Entertainment wrote.
Movieguide® recently reported on the NCIS spinoff show NCIS: ORIGINS:
The NCIS saga will continue in the spinoff series NCIS: ORIGINS, which explores the backstory of Mark Harmon’s Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
Along with Gibbs, the series will dive into Mike Franks’ and Special Agent Vera Strickland’s stories.
“Narrated by Mark Harmon, NCIS: ORIGINS begins in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS. In the new series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks. (On the mothership series, Franks has been a recurring character played by Muse Watson. Franks was fatally stabbed in Season 8 but continued to appear to Gibbs when he needed a sounding board on hard cases),” Deadline reported.
Harmon is the only confirmed cast member, though he will be returning to the franchise as the series’ narrator, not as Gibbs.
