American singer and songwriter Kane Brown took a break from the stage to try his hand at performing on the small screen for season 1 of Fire Country. Well before joining the procedural action drama for his exciting cameo appearance, Brown shot to country music stardom with a six-song EP released in June 2015. The EP, titled Closer, quickly populated music charts, and by November of that same year, Brown embarked on his first headline tour that sold out every show he played across the country (via The Vogue). From then on, Brown became somewhat of a country music legend.
With Brown’s subsequent release – his 2017 self-titled album – the singer/songwriter made history, becoming the first-ever artist to top all five Billboard Country Charts (via People). Then, off the back of his sophomore album Experiment, Brown blossomed into more of a mainstream name, spending 2018 (and on) collaborating with artists such as Camila Cabello, Becky G, and Khalid, expanding his discography into pop, and performing in larger-scale venues like the IHeartRadio Music Festival. As if dominating the country music scene wasn’t enough, Brown ventured into acting for CBS’s now-trending TV series Fire Country.

Brown Plays A Heroic But Catastrophic Role
Fire Country chronicles young convict Bode Donovan’s path to redemption via a real-world prison release firefighting program. Bode and a selection of inmates partner with the elite California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to put out massive fires and other tragedies that plague Northern California. By season 1, episode 18, entitled “Off the Rails,” the crew is called to the site of a train crash so disastrous it requires all hands on deck and then some. Brown’s cameo character, Robin, a train-hopping vagabond at the crash scene, volunteers to help the firefighters recover other victims.
The train Robin was traveling on collided with a bus full of high school students heading to prom. At first, the wayfarer appears to be a stand-up guy, assisting the crew with vital information about the crash and walking some injured teens to safety. However, as the episode unfolds, Robin seems more and more disreputable. As it turns out, Robin is part of a larger drug-peddling scheme and leaves Bode with a bag full of evidence in a twist ending that puts the recovering convict in a compromising position for Fire Country season 2.

Just because Robin in Fire Country was Brown’s first real acting role doesn’t mean the singer’s influence hasn’t touched TV and film before. He can be heard on the soundtrack of movies like Fast X and Scoob! and seen as a guest mentor of Blake Shelton on The Voice. The singer has also expressed excitement about taking his acting career to the next level someday. Brown does not have any future acting projects lined up at the moment, but audiences may see him in future Fire Country seasons if his schedule permits.

Per Entertainment Tonight, Fire Country creator and star Max Thieriot indicated that he’d love to bring Brown’s character into the fold again, stating, “We only get a portion of [Robin’s] backstory, which, hopefully, we can continue telling at some point down the road.” Brown corroborated that he “would love to” if the opportunity presented itself.
