Connor Cruise shares rare glimpse into his personal life. While he typically keeps his personal life private and doesn’t post often on social media, the son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman shared two photos on Instagram Stories on Saturday, August 17, showing him spending time with friends.

The first photo shows Connor, 29, posing next to a friend on a sidewalk with a rocky beach and a sunset behind them. He’s wearing a black T-shirt, black hat, white shorts, and gray sneakers, giving the camera a thumbs up while his other hand rests on his friend’s shoulder. “Happy birthday,” Connor wrote in the caption, tagging his friend.

Next, he shared a photo of himself on a boat with a group of friends on a fishing trip. Connor sits in the middle of the group of four men, holding up a giant fish as the group smiles. During the outing, the avid fisherman wore a printed hoodie, grey shorts and a wide-brimmed hat, along with sunglasses to keep the sun off his face.

The photo appeared to be another opportunity for him to wish a friend a happy birthday, as he wrote “Happy Birthday!!” on the photo, tagging a fellow fisherman.

Connor was adopted by Tom, 62, and Kidman, 57, shortly after he was born in 1995, a few years after they adopted daughter Isabella Jane. He also has a number of half-siblings, with Kidman welcoming daughters Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13, with current husband Keith Urban, and Tom shares daughter Suri, 18, with ex Katie Holmes.

Although he leads a fairly private life now, Connor grew up in Los Angeles and has worked in the entertainment industry in his previous years. He starred alongside Will Smith in the 2008 drama Seven Pounds, starred in the 2012 action film Red Dawn, and released music in 2013.

“We used to go fishing a lot when I was younger,” he told PEOPLE magazine in 2016. “I was lucky enough to travel the world as a kid, and now I travel the world for work.”
