The Organizing Committee of the Cannes Film Festival 2025 has just strictly issued a costume for the guests, including banning the clothes that follow nude showing off body or too picky affecting others.
Despite the piercing style and almost naked by many stars on the red carpet, Cannes strictly prohibits this because of the solemnity of the event. “In order to ensure courtesy, we banned naked on the red carpet as well as in any area of the film festival,” the organizers announced on the website.
In the past, there were many guests, including famous stars, dressed in a red carpet on the Cannes film festival. The outfit showing off her body, which is said to make the audience more noticeable than the films premiered at the Grand Théâtre Lumière auditorium.
The new rule of the film festival also does not welcome bulky costumes, “especially the long sets that hinder the circulation of the guests and make it difficult to arrange seats in the theater”. In the history of the famous French International Film Festival, many guests have impressed with the outfits with long meters or hats and body skirts. Last year, former lingerie angel Elsa Hosk, supermodel Heidi Klum, Miss World 2000 Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach … all wearing evening dresses with wide spread, long and slender.
The Organizing Committee clearly stated that in case anyone does not comply with these regulations, the reception team of the film festival is forced to refuse them to the red carpet.
The recommended costumes are evening dresses such as long skirts or tuxedo shirts. In addition, guests can wear small black dresses, cocktail skirts, dark long clothes, luxurious shirts combined with black casual pants, black suit with neck bow or tie. Regarding shoes, guests can wear sandals, high heels or flat shoes, but absolutely do not wear sports shoes. Fabric bags and backpacks are not allowed to be carried inside and the organizers have an outside closet for guests to store their belongings.
The 78th Cannes Film Festival will take place from 13 to 24 May in Cannes City, France. This year’s event continues to be one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, attracting hundreds of works and big names in the film industry. 22 films were selected in the official competition category to compete for the highest prize: Palm.
The jury of this year’s official competition category is president Juliette Binoche. Other judges include Hollywood actor Halle Berry, Indian director Payal Kapadia, Italian actor Alba Rohrwacher, French writer LelaLa Slimani, director of the Congo Dieudo Hamadi, Korean director Hong Sang-Soo, Mexican director Carlos Reygadas, actor Jeremy Strong.
