Oftentimes than most, Hollywood actors and actresses take on projects that require them to transform themselves drastically or endure environments and shooting locations that are not for the faint of heart. Sylvester Stallone is one of the few actors in the industry who is willing to persevere through these hardships for his films.

Famous as one of the most iconic action stars of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, Stallone has immortalized himself in cinematic history through all the rough and tough characters he played over the span of his career. But even after enduring so much pain and hardships, he accepts that he’s just not made to compete with the legend Bear Grylls himself.

Sylvester Stallone Accepts That He’s Not As Tough As Bear Grylls

Popular for his recurring character of John J. Rambo in the Rambo franchise, who is a survival expert on the battlefield, Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone is known to portray hard-boiled, tough, and strong characters in most of the films and film franchises he is a part of. Therefore, he has created an image of himself in the public as one of the most bada*s stars in the industry. But even with all the abilities he possesses to stay true to that image, he still feels that he’s in no way comparable to British survival specialist Bear Grylls.

In a past interview, the Rocky star was with his co-star Michael B. Jordan from his film Creed, where they were talking about the film. Here, when Jordan elaborated on an episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls that he was a part of, Stallone, after hearing about the experience from his co-star, stated that if the producers of the show wanted him to collaborate with Grylls in a future episode, they can forget it and instead contact his former rival Arnold Schwarzenegger. Michael B. Jordan stated:

“I ate boiled worms, which was not as good as it sounds, I also jumped out of a helicopter into the sea and that was the sink or swim kind of moment. I thought I was going to drown. It was next level. You figure because it was a show with Bear Grylls you would be safe, but no, it is not safe at all.”

Despite being strong in both body and mind, Stallone accepts just how much more refined and tough the reality TV star is, and respects him.

Why Is Sylvester Stallone Such A Popular Action Star?

One of the few action stars from the good old days of Hollywood, Stallone still maintains that awe-inspiring persona of himself in the eyes of his fans. By playing some of the most iconic bada*s characters in the business like John J. Rambo, a special Military commando, to fictional boxing legend Rocky Balboa from the super successful Rocky and Creed franchise and many more, it’s no surprise when people associate him with the image of the epitome of an action star.
