Michael Gerard Tyson, aka Mike Tyson, is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005. In his early career, Tyson was nicknamed “Iron Mike” and “Kid Dynamite” and later known as “The Baddest Man on the Planet” because he’s best known for his vicious punches and ruthless fights.

Although he said goodbye to the boxing world way back, he was the undoubted world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Forty-four of Mike’s 50 victories came by way of knockout, and that speaks to how powerful this man is.

Mike Tyson was Petrified of his Opponents and Cried Before Every Fight

Can you believe someone who is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time says he’s always petrified before entering the ring? Surprising? That’s what Mike Tyson said, as shown in one of the shorts on Cycas Motivation’s YouTube channel. Tyson said:

“Sometimes after my whole life, I was stick, you know what I mean? F*cking the god of the savages. Look where I came from, I hate felt sorry for myself, had chips on my shoulder coz I was always poor, I was uneducated. F*ck everyone I am a monster, watch me reign and all that stuff.”

When he was asked if he was scared of entering the ring? He then added changing the expressions on her face:

“And I just found out, I am a little scary boy and I’m not a tough guy. I’m petrified!”

In the Hotboxin Podcast with guest Claressa Shields, he also admits that he cried before every fight because he felt guilty about what he was about to do.

Sylvester Stallone Once Turned Down an Opportunity From Mike Tyson As He Feared For His Life

Hollywood legend Sylvester Stallone has worked with fighters like Antonio Carver and Dolph Lundgren, but when it came to Mike Tyson, he rejected the chance to work with heavyweight legend Iron Mike. In one of Stallone’s films, Tyson was asked to become the antagonist of the actor.

However, Stallone rejected the chance to fight with Tyson, as he told Contact Music via:

“Mike wanted to fight me in this film, but I thought it was a bad idea. I know I’m not that young, but I’m still too young to die.

“I said, ‘Thanks, but I don’t think that would be a very good idea. Thank you very much.’ But he kept calling the office saying he wanted to be in the film fighting me.”

So, after all the calls, Stallone told Tyson that all he can do is to land a cameo at ringside. He added:

“Eventually, I relented and said he could be in the audience. Then I never heard from him. Suddenly, when I turn up in the ring he’s there at the side. I turned round and said to the crew, ‘Can you make sure you keep that son of a b***h out of the ring. If he gets in he’ll kill me.’ The man’s a killer.”

Just like Stallone, Kid Dynamite’s raw power, speed, and ferocity inside the ring were unmatched and feared by many. Tyson is an honest guy who’s willing to show his vulnerability and always shook his fans with his generosity.
