RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars introduced viewers to 12 sickening queens from different countries competing for a spot in the International Pavilion of the Drag Race Hall of Fame — culminating into top 4 finalists Alyssa Edwards, Nehellenia, Kitty Scott-Claus, and Kween Kong lip syncing for the crown and the iconic crowning of Alyssa Edwards.
After the top 4 finalists gave it their all to prove that they deserved to win this season, Mama Ru crowned the Drag Race season 5 and All Stars 2 alum from Mesquite, Texas as the first-ever winner of Global All Stars.
Since the grand finale was released on Paramount+, fans took notice that Kween had gone a little bit silent on social media. But given the scrutiny that the Drag Race Down Under alum had faced from certain fans this season, it was understandable — albeit unfortunate — that she chose to step away for a moment.
On Wednesday, October 30, Kween broke her silence with a beautiful post not only sharing what she’s learned from this Global All Stars journey and her original Drag Race run, but also looking forward to her subsequent appearance as a guest on Down Under season 4.
“I just want to say a huge thank you to my village of supporters who have held me down through this season and shown me immense love,” she wrote. “If any of you watched my original season, you’d know I’ve weathered many storms and have always come through them with grace, love, and a greater understanding of myself through it all. Coming back this season, I left my inner saboteur at home and came to the studio to play and have fun. ‘Well rounded, fully seasoned professional’ — I am that through and through. But on my best day, I still stand in front of you personally as a work in progress.”
Kween went on, “This storm that I’m going through now will pass. And though I’m standing in it soaking wet, I know, like all things I’ve been through in my life, I’ll embrace the journey and grow to be 10 times stronger. My intentions with my journey through the show was never to hurt or upset anyone. It pains me to feel misunderstood in moments seen, as I really was delivering the best version of myself I could be at that time, both good and bad.”
“Lessons have been learned, and boundaries have been created, moving forward,” she explained. “I left filming this season a year ago so proud of everything I did, and how I represented my communities and countries that I have championed my entire career. I know my work in my communities speaks for itself. This isn’t the end of my journey, this is a new beginning. And as my sister, role model, and newly-crowned Global All Star [Alyssa Edwards] has shown me, ‘Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to is.’ Consistency always wins the pageant, and everything gets better with age.”
Kween wrapped this post with the following conclusion:
“Thank you so much to my soul mothers RuPaul and Michelle Visage for changing my world and helping me realize my potential. All the girls from this cast, [thank you] for this epic experience. And huge thanks to my family at World of Wonder for creating this platform for me and my sisters to shine, and Paramount+ for bringing the season to life. We may not have taken the crown this time, but best believe I’ll be back for the title when it is my time [heart emoji].”

This emotional post from Kween Kong comes after some fresh drama involving Nehellenia and Vanity Vain. All things considered, Drag Race fans were curious to hear what Kween would say after the dust settled, and it warms our hearts to see the silver linings that she is taking with her as this Global chapter of her career — which isn’t going anywhere, trust and believe! — comes to an end.
While she isn’t known as an “extremely online” queen within the Drag Race franchise, Alyssa Edwards promptly reacted to Kween’s post, writing in the comments:
“I’m beyond grateful for the chance to work alongside you, to share laughter, in-depth conversations, gym sessions, and stories of family and life’s journey. These moments mean so much to me. You are a fierce queen with a heart that is good, and while some may not understand completely your will to overcome anything in life that has held you back or broke you down, [that] will one day be a part of your story, [which] will inspire another human. Don’t just weather this storm, lady, DANCE in it. We all are learning to live and living to learn [heart emoji]. I’m always here for you.”
It’s giving, “Let’s work it out on the remix,” as Lorde — Kween Kong’s fellow star from New Zealand — expertly sang in her iconic remix alongside Charli XCX. I mean, we have to stan!
