The hit western drama Yellowstone will be coming to an end with its fifth season and fans are eager to see exactly how the show will come to a conclusion.
The ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes are having a significant impact on upcoming TV schedules.
Certain shows have been delayed indefinitely, while others are at possible risk of cancellation.
And one hit popular show which has experienced significant delays is Paramount’s Yellowstone.
The Western drama, which is concluding after its fifth season, had already been split into two parts with part one airing earlier this year but there had been no news as to when part two could appear on viewers’ screens.
CBS, which falls under the Paramount umbrella, has announced its fall schedule and has a Yellowstone update for fans.
Yellowstone repeats will begin on September 17 at 8.30pm in the US. However, there has been no further indication as to when the remainder of season five will air.
The strikes aren’t the first delay to affect the hit Western drama either. Initially, the delays were attributed to Kevin Costner, who plays the family patriarch John Dutton on the show and his much-publicised contract dispute.
At the time it was reported that he wanted to limit himself to one week of filming for the remaining episodes of season five so that he could focus on other projects.
Then came the show’s official cancellation. The remainder of season five was originally slated for a November 2023 return but as the new schedule has revealed, there is no sign of any new episodes.
Something that could be of some consolation for fans is that Yellowstone’s co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan had previously suggested the second half of season five could have as many as 10 episodes
He revealed to The Hollywood Reporter: “If I think it takes 10 episodes to wrap it up, they’ll give me 10. It’ll be as long as it needs to be.”
Joining the Yellowstone repeats on the fall schedule are three new unscripted series, the Josh Duhamel-hosted reality Show, Buddy Games, game show Raid The Cage and Jaime Camil-hosted, Lotería Loca, which will make their debuts.
Fan favourites such as Survivor, The Amazing Race and 60 Minutes are all set to return, while summer hits such as Big Brother, will extend into the latter few months of the year.
Some more note-worthy dates, a special 20th anniversary mini marathon of NCIS repeats will be held on September 25, while FBI True and SEAL Team will debut with repurposed episodes in October and November respectively. The UK version of CBS’ Ghosts will also premier on November 16.
