Brittany faced an uphill battle in 2014 when she was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Brittany admits that her illness was rapid and changed her outlook on life. She is now cancer-free and credits her family for helping her get through it.

“I wouldn’t have gotten through this without my family,” she told People. “My family is everything to me, and I feel like they’ve been there for me through this.” Brittany and her famous twin sister continue to share a strong bond more than two decades after they first appeared on screen. The sisters have created a joint Instagram account where they detail their fun adventures together.

Brittany was overjoyed when her sister, Cynthia, fell in love and married “Yellowstone” actor Cole Hauser. The two families have remained united and have been through thick and thin together. Brittany and Cynthia’s love for each other is boundless, and even when Brittany’s battle with cancer affected her ability to conceive, she was able to count on her twin sister to be her egg donor.

As a result, Brittany and her husband, Adam Touni, welcomed their daughter, Hope, last October. Cynthia said she saw it as a simple gift for her sister and believes Brittany would do the same if they switched places. The “Basketball Diary” actress talked to her husband, Hauser, and they agreed to help. Receiving an egg from her sister was Brittany’s only chance at becoming a mother.
