Farmer Wants A Wife’s Andrew Coleman has broken his silence following his split from Claire Saunders, who he met while filming the show in 2022. Claire announced the breakup in July, but Andrew had yet to comment on the split, with the farmer taking to Instagram to share a statement.

“It feels the right time to share what’s been happening in my life on the farm and beyond,” he began the lengthy post. “For someone who’s more used to being surrounded by sheep and nature than the buzz of social media, this is a bit out of the box. But here goes!

“Farm life is full of hard work, dedication, and heart. Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to create a slice of paradise out here. A few years ago, I felt the pull to share this life with someone special, to build something greater, and maybe even start a family. In a leap of faith, and a healthy dose of nerves, I signed up for Farmer Wants a Wife.

“I never imagined meeting such an amazing group of women, each with their own spirit and story. It was exciting and humbling, reminding me of how important love and connection are.”

He continued, “Amidst it all, one extraordinary woman captured my heart, and we decided to give it a shot. We moved in together, dreaming of a future where our love would grown alongside the farm. It was fast-paced, passionate and fun.

“But life had other plans. Despite all the love and effort we both gave, sometimes things just don’t work out. Living together brought its own challenges, and we realised our paths weren’t meant to stay intertwined.

“It’s sad the relationship ended, but I stand tall knowing we gave it our all. Though it didn’t lead us where we hoped, it helped us grow. Its been a huge outlay of heart and soul. And while it’s painful to walk away, we’ve both emerged stronger, wiser, and more attuned to what really matters.”

Andrew shared that he was thankful for his friends and family and “everyone who followed this chapter” of his life, “Your kindness has been much appreciated, reminding me in tough times, great support can be found.”

He finished by saying, “As I move forward, I’m choosing to celebrate the love we shared, the lessons learned, and the strength gained. No regrets, just gratitude. Now, it’s time to dive back into farm life. There’s never a dull moment with the challenges, adventures and pleasures that come from living and working on the land, and I look forward to sharing this journey, hoping we can all find inspiration.”

Andrew and Claire seemingly tease reunion after messy break-up

It comes after it appeared that Andrew and Claire were actually teasing a reunion. Claire took to Instagram last week to share an Instagram Story of personalised wedding decorations that seemingly hinted they may be back together.

As first reported by The North West Star, the fondant cake topper featured Andrew and Claire surrounded by their dogs Sam, Flynn, Moe, Dusty and Diesel.

The bizarre post comes less than a week after Claire alleged that Andrew had followed her to Tasmania and transported her car back to mainland Australia without her knowledge.

She later retracted the accusation in a since-deleted Instagram post on Wednesday, telling her followers: “Both Andrew and I are hurting and we both haven’t known how to cope with it all, especially with our relationship being so public. He is a beautiful human and out of hurt has made some silly decisions, just like me and all of us.”

Claire and Andrew call off their wedding

Farmer Wants A Wife fans were left devastated in July when Claire announced that she had not only cancelled her wedding to Andrew but also left his sheep farm in rural New South Wales to relocate to the Northern Territory on her own.

“My dogs and I have headed north to Darwin to work for the dry season,” she wrote. “Andrew and I have had to cancel our wedding due to reasons out of our control, but we are both okay.

“I’m not sure what else to say other than, sometimes life is hard and we all just need little breathing space. There will be no farming content from me for the foreseeable future.”

A former cast member who appeared on the 2023 version of the show alongside the pair told Yahoo Lifestyle at the time that the couple were still “technically” together but their future was uncertain.

“Last I heard, they’re technically still together but taking time apart and having a break,” they said, adding that this decision was “led by Andrew” and Claire is “pretty upset”.

The co-star, who asked to remain anonymous, added that the pair had “fallen off the radar” this year, but most people assumed this was because they were happy. The news surprised those who know them personally as much as fans.
