Fire Country Sneak Peek Reveals Sassy New Cadet — And Bode’s Snazzy New Haircut (Exclusive)

CBS‘ Fire Country this Friday at 9/8c continues its season-opening two-parter, yes, with Bode and Gabriela (played by series co-creator Max Thieriot and Stephanie Arcila) racing to the scene of the exploded helicopter. (Don’t worry, Gaby throws a fireman’s coat over her bridal gown first.)

But if you think that situation gets hairy, well, wait until you see the new Bode Leone.

In Season 3’s second episode, “Firing Squad,” Bode receives a life-changing opportunity that could impact his future as a firefighter. Leven Rambin (True Detective), meanwhile, begins a guest-starring run as Audrey, a former fire camp inmate who is part of Jake’s (Jacob Calloway) Cal Fire cadet training program.

“I love Leven, she’s great,” Fire Country showrunner Tia Napolitano told TVLine ahead of the season. “Audrey was designed to really have some common thread with Bode, in that they’ve both done some bad things, they’ve both been incarcerated and spent time in fire camp, and they both really caught the fire bug, where they want to do this for real. So, she’s really meant to populate that area of Bode’s life.”

We first meet Audrey in the exclusive sneak peek above, where she doesn’t give Jake quite the answers he is looking for during blackout training. The student/teacher tension is cut, though, when who rolls up but a shaved-and-shorn Bode.

Back in May, TVLine asked Napolitano, on behalf of a reader, if and when Bode might ever tame his mane. At that time, she said, “I’m not sure if we’re going to change Bode’s look,” adding, “That’s a Max decision” — as in series star Thieriot’s capacity as a fellow executive producer.

Looks like Max said yes!
