Bobbie’s GH death will have far reaching repercussions.

While beloved performer Jacklyn Zeman passed away in May following a short battle with cancer, her temperamental General Hospital character, Bobbie Spencer, was said to still be alive and well and raising Hell over in Amsterdam while attending to her late brother’s affairs. Now, the ABC soap is poised to honor both Zeman and Bobbie.

GH Says Goodbye To Bobbie And Jacklyn Zeman

Per People, news of Bobbie’s passing will be shared during New Year’s week. Subsequently, two special episodes, airing on January 10 and 11, will see Port Charlesites past and present gathering for a memorial service. Chief among the alums will be Ryan Carnes, who’s played Bobbie’s son, Lucas, on and off since 2004. (Check out these facts about Carnes.)

The online publication teases that the somber occasion will double as a launching pad for a “mini-adventure” that will see Bobbie’s daughter and good girlfriend — Carly (Laura Wright) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristiana Wagner), respectively — travel to The Venice of the North to finish what Nurse Spencer started.

In an exclusive chat with People, Wright mused that the episodes served a dual, cathartic purpose. “It wasn’t just for Bobbie; it was for Jackie as well…it was bittersweet. It was about Jackie, and everyone was so present.… It was like we as a cast got to really say goodbye.”

And there’s every possibility that Zeman was present for the celebration of life. As the second day of shooting wrapped, the cast and crew were heartened to emerge from the studio to the sight of a glorious rainbow.

“It was incredible,” enthused Wright. “Everyone leaving the studio wasn’t surprised. They were like, ‘Oh my gosh.’“
