General Hospital Spoilers: Bonnie Burroughs Says Goodbye To General Hospital As Gladys Leaves Port Charles

Gladys Corbin is the kind of figure who leaves a lasting impression on the viewer. The audience usually has a love-hate relationship with a certain character because we really adore detesting them. A talented performer can elicit a strong emotional response from the audience. Therefore, if a fictitious character leaves you with hatred and anger, they have succeeded in their goal.

As for myself, many times the love to hate vibe turns straight into love for the character. It’s like I don’t even care that someone came to port Charles to torture the family whose daughter needed a kidney. Or, a boarding school brat who was actually a deranged con artist. Thankfully, soap operas love redemption for their characters. Moreover, how about a ruthless, business woman who didn’t hesitate to blackmail and manipulate her own granddaughter.

Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) falls into the same category as many of the greats. Nelle (Chloe Lanier), Esme (Avery Kristen Pohl), and even Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot). As most great tv villains, at some point it comes to an end. And General Hospital news and spoilers reveal that the time is now for Gladys. Yes, her reign as Greedy Gladys is over.

Gladys Says Goodbye To Port Charles

Reportedly, General Hospital news confirms that Bonnie Burroughs leaves General Hospital as Gladys is punished by Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). According to GH spoilers, Gladys isn’t getting away with what she did to Sasha (Sofia Mattsson). In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Burroughs opened up about the news, confirming that Gladys was written out of the script. She reflects on how she learned Gladys’s fate, and admits that she’s grateful.

Moreover, Burroughs admitted that Executive Producer Frank Valentini gave her an heads up. He informed her that the end was near prior to receiving the scripts. She admits, “I’m glad I did get that heads-up,” because if I hadn’t, when I got the script for the last episode, it would have hit me harder.”

She must say farewell, but fortunately her time as Gladys is not yet done. Gladys should thank her fortunate stars that Sonny treated her like royalty. Some claim he has softened, while others counter that he did the best he could given that she is family.

According to the most recent GH casting reports, Gladys Corbin’s episode starring Bonnie Burroughs has been officially filmed. Fortunately, the door is still open for Monster-in-law Greedy Gladys to one day come back.
