Spoilers for General Hospital indicate that when Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) initially returned to Port Charles, he was enraged with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
She found it incomprehensible that Jason had allowed their now-adolescent son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), to think he had passed away more than two years ago. She was so furious that she insisted Jason keep his distance from Danny at all. Danny was bitter, but Sam refused to back down.
Sam McCall loves Dante Falconeri
In addition to Jason’s mysterious reasons for being gone so long, he was also suspected of shooting Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna) briefly.
Sam fell in love with Dante after finally putting her feelings for Jason aside. Luckily, Jason was cleared and Dante made a full recovery. Finally, in a quiet moment, Jason admitted to Sam that he had been forced to let everyone believe he was dead because he was blackmailed by the FBI. Once she discovered that little tidbit, Sam’s anger toward Jason began to subside.

In fact, Sam is now willing to put herself at risk by teaming up with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to investigate what information the FBI has on Jason. She’s doing all of this in secret, without bringing Dante in the loop.
Sam is telling herself that she’s doing it for Danny, but the truth is her long-buried feelings for Jason may finally be coming to the surface. It’s quite possible that Jason and Sam will grow closer during the course of her secret investigation and could even find herself in bed with her ex.
Dante Falconeri will soon face life as a single man once again!
Sam will be devastated if he really does cheat on Dante. Together, Sam and Dante have created a life they love, and they have for a very long time. However, Jason awakens a part of Sam that longs for adventure and risk.
She has always been just as addicted to risk as Jason was, if not more so. Sam might come to the realization that she belongs with Jason if she wants to be genuinely happy. Dante might become a single father once more.
