Fans were caught off guard by the unexpected disclosure of last week’s Cliffhanger Friday modifications. Austin Holt lay there bleeding from a gunshot wound, lifeless. Dr. Austin Holt was shot and left for dead. Was it Jeff Kober’s Cyrus Renault? Or Nikolas Cassadine, perhaps? What about Maura West’s Ava Jerome?
Many had thought that Roger Howarth, also known as Austin Gatlin Holt, would return in a different guise if he passed away. Sadly, neither of those perfect situations materialized. Austin and his lollipop 🍭 licking cousin Mason have been up to no good. The difference is that Mason is seemingly rotten to the core while Austin has been forced by Cyrus. So if Mason is the real bad guy and Austin was forced to go along for the ride, then justice didn’t come through. Instead, Mason gets off with a slap on the wrist with a trip to Pentonville. Meanwhile, Austin, a doctor, winds up dead.
We are sad to see both of these actors and their roles go. Fans truly felt that Roger would return in a new role as he’s been notoriously known for role switch ups on GH. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. And as for Mason, the door was left open for Nathanyael and Mason to return.
