William Lipton is headed to Amazon for a new music-themed series.

As Cameron Webber, General Hospital actor William Lipton has made some beautiful music. Now, the Daytime Emmy nominee has landed a new series in which he pursues his music with some fellow band members.

Cameron Webber: Meet The Roundarounds

The Hollywood Reporter shares the news that Amazon is working with the creators of Netflix’s Outer Banks to tell a new story. Watch for Lipton and other members of the band The Runarounds to appear in an eight-episode series titled (what else?) The Runarounds, which follows a group of post-high school band members as they try to make it big. While not a spinoff of the series Outer Banks, the program does feature the same music group (The Runarounds) that appeared in Outer Banks‘ Season 3.

The Runarounds isn’t a reality series but rather a scripted, fictional program; the story stars the group’s real-life members, which include Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher. Also in the cast are Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira.

“Where are we going, fellas? To the top, Johnny!” Lipton shared on Instagram, quoting the late John Lennon.

In our last interview in December with Lipton, he marveled at how much time had passed since he first joined the ABC soap opera. “I started General Hospital when I was a sophomore in high school,” Lipton said. “I just entered our winter recess. It was a long semester, a good season of finals and stuff. It was a long semester, a good season of finals and stuff.”

As the Amazon series is only eight episodes, there’s still the chance that Lipton will continue to pop onto GH and reprise his role as Cameron as schedules allow and storylines dictate. An airdate for The Runarounds has not been announced. Soap Hub congratulates Lipton on his new series.
