Jophielle Love explained how the work at such a young age has helped shape her talent as an artist.

Fans are not too happy that Jophielle Love is exiting General Hospital. They’ve watched her grow as Violet over the years and have become attached to the highly talented youngster who seems wise beyond her years. Because Violet’s on-screen dad Finn, played by Michael Easton, has moved to Seattle, it was a bittersweet farewell. Violet was happy to rejoin her father but sad to leave everyone in Port Charles behind.

The Future Looks Bright

“I am excited to see what happens [next],” was what Love told Soap Opera Digest about life beyond GH. In discussing her run as Violet Finn, which she began in 2019 at age five, Love pointed out that now that she’s leaving the show at age ten, she’s spent half of her life working on it. But she learned a lot during that time, praising the soap, which “pretty much taught me everything about working on a TV set as an actor. This has been the best learning experience. Now I can’t wait to do more.”

She explained that when she first started, she only had to say a few words in her scenes, but now she has far more script pages because she’d been shooting multiple episodes a day. But all that hard work has paid off because “The show made me become an actress. It taught me that I can learn a lot of lines in a very short time.”

Artistic Growth

In December 2023, Love performed her original song Shine on GH, which garnered her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Original Song. She was very proud of it, remarking, “That is so great because my other dream is to become a singer. I love singing, and I love writing songs.” Her nomination might open up other opportunities. And we wouldn’t be surprised to see her touring with GH alum and rock star Rick Springfield (ex-Noah).

Love also expressed her gratitude for the fans, explaining that “GH is like a family to them, too. They care for us, they care for the characters and the actors. They probably won’t like seeing Violet leaving.” The fans certainly didn’t. But much like Violet’s own bittersweet response to having to leave Port Charles, it’s also bittersweet for the fans who love her charm and talent and want her to stay. However, they will undoubtedly remain loyal and support her as she moves on to other projects.
