A recently leaked video has shown what’s set to be happening on Home and Away in early 2025, and fans are all making the same joke about Harper.
Leaked footage from the set of Home and Away has shown a sneak peek at some scenes due to play out in 2025 and fans are now joking that a current storyline playing out is set to be the longest-ever pregnancy to hit the Bay.
For a town where many adults are lurking around and getting involved in all sorts of mishaps including crime, affairs, scams, and gang violence, there’s a surprising lack of, well, children. Maybe everyone’s too busy being bad to remember sometimes it feels good to love and be loved in return, or whatever that simp said in Moulin Rouge.
Long gone are the days of Summer Bay High, foster kids running around the Caravan Park and Sally or Irene taking them in, or teens washing up on the beach speaking Pig Latin. You could almost say the innocent days of Home and Away are over. Any time someone does become pregnant, they’re immediately shipped off after having the baby, moving to “the UK” or to “the city” and never being spoken of again.
In some ways, it makes sense: why would you want to raise your kids in Summer Bay when every other day there’s a car accident, a kidnapping, a cult invasion, or someone being stalked and then shot?
Now enter Harper Matheson, who after one night of passion with Tane Parata and his bulging biceps, got conveniently knocked up. While it’s not overly convenient for her, it’s great for Tane who was whinging about his desire to become a dad and even going as far one day to kidnap a baby from a hospital. Weirdo.
That aside, Harper and Tane are now navigating life, figuring out how to raise their unborn spawn, and fans are waiting to see if their lacklustre chemistry will develop into a full-blown, very boring, relationship.

A leaked video was recently shared on Facebook of the Home and Away stars filming scenes earlier this week, for storylines set to play out in early-2025. And yep, there’s Harper, still bloody pregnant.
“Gee this has to be the longest pregnancy they have had on the show,” one fan posted in a dedicated Facebook fan group for the show, with someone else agreeing, “Hahaha it sure is.”
“She walks pretty fast for a pregnant lady haha,” another person joked, with someone else also agreeing that the pregnancy storyline could now be the longest-running one on the soap.
“Is she still pregnant?” someone else asked.
“Reminds me of Rachel on Friends,” another fan commented. “She went through all the seasons of the year lol.”
The last big pregnancy on the soap was Ziggy and Dean, with Ziggy giving birth on the show in early-2023 before promptly being exiled from the Bay. No place for young mums here! So given it’s been over a year since the Bay has had fertile waters, perhaps Harper’s baby bump is just being milked for ongoing drama before she also gets shipped off to a farm.
And we have no doubt she’ll end up in Northern District Hospital with some sort of dramatic birth moment that will probably involve Tane having to deliver the baby himself for some weird reason. Let’s be real, it wouldn’t be Summer Bay if Harper or the baby’s life wasn’t on the line at some point or if Tane doesn’t crash his car on the way.
Home and Away star addresses pregnancy controversy: ‘People need a reality check’
Jessica Redmayne has had to previously address the controversy around Harper’s surprise pregnancy storyline, after fans speculated the reason Harper was pregnant was because Jessica was in real life.
“So the latest Home and Away promo announces that Harper is pregnant. It’s been brought to my attention that people are wondering if Jessica is pregnant. Now, I know the similarities between me and Margot are uncanny, but no, I’m not pregnant,” she told fans, making a joke about Margot Robbie’s unannounced pregnancy.
“And if you have no idea what any of that means, I’m an actor, I work on Home and Away and my character’s name is Harper – she is pregnant. My name’s Jess, I’m not pregnant and Margot Robbie is pregnant. Just in case you didn’t see that in the news. That was the gag. Trying to be funny.”
