Home And Away’s Irene Roberts Left Devastated In Bronte Storyline

Home and Away’s Irene Roberts is mortified next week as her latest plan to help Bronte Langford backfires badly.

The Summer Bay favourite plays with fire as she suggests that Bronte should file a lawsuit against the Diner.

Viewers have recently seen Irene welcome Bronte into her home after meeting her at a hospital in the city.

Bronte is claiming to need support as she deals with a terminal illness, but it’s all a con to trick Irene out of her savings.

In upcoming scenes on Channel 5, Irene and her business partner Leah Patterson face the fallout after a contaminated water supply at the Diner left some customers seriously unwell.

Irene reveals that one of the victims is now seeking $50,000 in compensation following the frightening incident. Bronte overhears the news and decides to use this as part of her own evil plan.

Shortly afterwards, Bronte lies that she has received test results which “prove” that she was affected by the Diner outbreak too.

Bronte shamelessly lies that the incident has worsened her autoimmune disease, which leaves Irene feeling terrible.

As Irene is confident that the Diner’s insurance company will deal with the compensation payout, Irene suggests that Bronte should sue the business for $50,000 too.

Bronte can’t believe her luck as she updates her secret accomplice over the phone, promising that the money will be on the way soon.

News of Irene’s wild idea soon gets back to Leah, who demands to know why she has encouraged someone to sue them.

Irene defends her actions as a quick and easy way to help a sick woman get some help, as Bronte is claiming to need money to secure a place on an expensive medical trial.

Although she has every sympathy for Bronte, Leah is livid that Irene has put their business at risk without even consulting her first.

Leah’s worst fears soon become a reality when she receives an email from the Diner’s insurance company, which is refusing to cover the costs of the planned compensation payouts.

With the Diner now facing an uncertain future, Leah demands to know what Irene’s plan is now. How can they salvage the situation?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, July 29, Tuesday, July 30 and Friday, August 2 on Channel 5.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
