Home and Away’s Tane Parata finally hears the news of Harper Matheson’s pregnancy on UK screens next week.
Tane is stunned as Harper blurts out the news to stop him from fighting with Perri Hayes’ villainous father Carl.
Harper discovered that she’s expecting Tane’s baby a few weeks ago, but she initially kept quiet as she considered whether to carry on with the pregnancy or not.
Once Harper had made her decision to keep the baby, she struggled to find the right time to tell Tane as he always seemed busy with Perri or other matters.
In next week’s episodes on Channel 5, Perri’s abusive father Carl turns up to see him at the gym. He puts pressure on Perri to take on another criminal job, but Perri refuses.
Carl turns threatening when Perri stands up to him, forcing Tane to intervene and send him packing.
Furious over this, Carl does a little research into Tane’s history and is intrigued to discover that he’s on a suspended sentence following the baby kidnapping case.
Later in the week, Carl reappears and makes ominous comments to Perri about how easy it would be to engineer a situation and get Tane sent to prison.
Carl orders Perri to come home with him if he wants to keep Tane out of trouble, but Tane makes another attempt to intervene.
Just as a fight is about to break out – in full view of police constable Rose Delaney – Harper begs Tane to back down as he has too much to lose.
Full of emotion, Harper declares that she’s pregnant and Tane is going to be a dad. Tane is shellshocked and hurt that Harper kept the news from him for so long.
After downing several drinks at Salt while he ponders the situation, Tane arrives at Harper’s home and announces that he has questions for her. How will Harper respond?
