Big Brother 26’s AI Twist Has Already Turned The Game On Its Head
Ainsle Has Changed Big Brother 26

During premiere night, the Big Brother 26 houseguests met Ainsle, the AI character who’ll be controlling the game. Depending on whether they voted yes or no to allowing her to join the game, they competed in games that resulted in rewards or punishments. Competition winners Makensy and Quinn, whose identities are a secret, earned the power of either the Deep Fake HOH or America’s Veto. Competition losers Chelsie and Cedric games were downgraded and became BB mascots. They can’t compete for Head of Household, the Power of Veto, or vote this week, but they’re eligible to be nominated and evicted.

CBS has faced a lot of backlash in recent years because of its sudden changes to the Big Brother schedule. In fact, there was a lot of outrage this season because CBS’ coverage of the Republican National Convention ran long in some places and delayed the Big Brother 26 premiere when the network ran a Price Is Right At Night rerun after it instead. It’s refreshing to see a schedule change that prioritizes Big Brother by giving it extra airtime.

It’ll be thrilling to see what changes are made to the Big Brother 26 nominations and evictions, along with how the two new powers will affect the game. It’ll also be interesting to see if Makensy and Quinn are allowed to tell the houseguests that they have the powers and if they choose to do so. Chelsie and Cedric are going into the first week with a huge disadvantage, but perhaps they can turn things around in their favor. Whatever happens next, Ainsle has already taught the Big Brother 26 houseguests that they should “expect the unexpected” during the season.
