Katie Holmes Responds to Recent Reports That Suri Cruise, Her Daughter with Ex-Husband Tom Cruise, Has Become a Millionaire Thanks to Her Famous Father’s Trust Fund.
Days after media reports that Suri Cruise became a millionaire thanks to Tom Cruise’s trust fund being activated when she came of age, Katie Holmes has quickly denied the claims.
Katie Holmes took a screenshot of the DailyMail article titled “Suri Cruise Becomes Millionaire After Tom Cruise’s Trust Fund Is Activated” on her personal Instagram page, along with an angry caption: “Enough is enough. This is completely false.”
The Batman Begins star has largely kept Suri Cruise out of the spotlight since she and Tom Cruise finalized their divorce in 2012 after more than five years of marriage. In recent years, Katie Holmes has become more open about her teenage daughter, the couple’s only biological child.
“Because she’s so dominant from a young age, it’s important to me to protect her. I’m so grateful to be her mother. She’s an amazing person,” the 46-year-old actress told Glamour.
Last summer, Katie Holmes made a rare comment about their relationship as Suri Cruise prepared to go to college: “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I’m going to miss this time together. I’m really proud of her and I’m so happy.”
Suri Cruise is the youngest and only biological child of Tom Cruise’s three children. She was born when her parents were still in a relationship and were considered a Hollywood power couple.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ lavish wedding was held in November 2006 at the Odescalchi castle in Bracciano (Italy) with the participation of A-list stars such as David Beckham’s family, singer Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith and Brooke Shields, and Chris Henchy.
