Big Brother 25’s Reilly Smedley believed she was going to start a romantic relationship with Matt Klotz outside the house, but things have changed.
Big Brother season 25 houseguest Reilly Smedley may have been expecting a relationship with Matt Klotz to form outside of the game originally, but she agreed during a recent TikTok Live she may have dodged a bullet. Throughout Big Brother season 25, showmances formed between several of the houseguests who were in the running for the $750,000 grand prize. While the relationship between Big Brother 25 houseguests Reilly and Matt was the shortest, it was featured throughout the season. Despite only knowing her for two short weeks, Matt appeared to be infatuated with Reilly throughout Big Brother 25, even receiving a letter from her instead of his family in his Head Of Household basket during week 13.
While Reilly and Matt seemed like they could get into a relationship after he took second place on Big Brother 25, both have confirmed that outside of the game, they’re just friends. During a recent TikTok Live, Reilly shared her agreement with a comment regarding her non-relationship with Matt. “Reilly you dodged a bullet with Matt fr,” @Keke420purr commented, according to @BigBrotherXtra on Twitter.

After beginning to read the comment aloud, Reilly stopped but clearly took it in silently, then laughed and agreed. She seemed to be clear that getting into a relationship with Matt would’ve been bad for her at the time, especially with the way things have panned out for both of them.

Matt and Reilly seemed drawn to one another early on during Big Brother 25, quickly forming an alliance and agreeing they wanted to work together. As the first Head Of Household, Reilly had a big target on her back and ultimately got nominated during Hisam Goueli’s HOH reign in week 2. While Reilly was hopeful she’d be able to get the votes to stay in the house, things continued to progress in her relationship with Matt. Both appeared to like each other, and Matt admitted he was attracted to her just days before she left the house in a unanimous eviction.
Though they never committed to anything in the house, it seemed clear the pair would at least try something romantically after the game, especially with the way Matt talked about their relationship. After the game was over, Matt and Reilly spent some time together during her stay in Los Angeles after the finale, but when she returned to Nashville, things went quiet. Reilly was open with her followers in the coming weeks, sharing that she and Matt weren’t pursuing a romantic relationship as he had a lot going on personally and didn’t feel ready for a commitment. Reilly didn’t seem impressed by Matt’s excuses, but both have since moved on.
After deciding not to pursue anything romantic, it’s clear that Matt and Reilly’s relationship was merely a surface-level connection that the pair made in a high-pressure situation. While Matt spent the entirety of the game obsessed with Reilly, especially after she left the Big Brother 25 house, she was able to return to her normal life after just a few weeks. Things may have progressed further if Matt and Reilly had spent more time together in the Big Brother house, but after her early eviction, it appears both are better off without a relationship to care for.
