It’s almost back-to-school time: Tubi has announced it will continue to bring the critically acclaimed BBC Three coming-of-age series “Boarders” to North American subscribers for the series’ second season.

Written by BAFTA nominee Daniel Lawrence Taylor (“Timewasters)”, “Boarders” follows the lives of five talented Black teenagers from inner-city London as they navigate life at St. Gilbert’s, an elite boarding school. The second season reportedly will see a new era for the students at the school with an acting headmistress who wants them gone.

Josh Tedeku (Jaheim), Jodie Campbell (Leah), Sekou Diaby (Toby), Myles Kamwendo (Omar), and Aruna Jalloh (Femi) will reprise their roles in the second season with Taylor returning as their mentor, Gus. The returning cast also includes Harry Gilby, Tallulah Greive, Rosie Graham, Assa Kanouté, and Niky Wardley.

The first season of “Boarders” holds a Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 100% rating. A Season 2 premiere date has yet to be announced.

Netflix has announced the official premiere date of its highly anticipated second season of “Squid Game.” The award-winning Korean survival thriller will return to the streamer later this year on Thursday, Dec. 26. Netflix also announced that the third season of the series will come next year and will be the series’ last.

The series, which debuted on Netflix in September 2021, revolves around 456 players, deep in financial hardship, who risk their lives to play a series of deadly children’s games for the chance to win the ₩45.6 billion prize. The Season 1 cast also included Park Hae-soo, Jung Ho-yeon, O Yeong-su, Heo Sung-tae, Anupam Tripathi, and Kim Joo-young, whose characters were ultimately beaten by victor Seong Gi-hun (played by Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae).

According to director, writer, and executive producer Hwang Dong-hyuk, the new season will see Seong return to the game after winning Season 1’s jackpot and vowing his revenge. And the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) “doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either.” The pair will continue to clash through to the Season 3 finale, which will come in 2025 with the premiere date to be announced later.

In addition to both Lees, Wi Ha-joon and Gong Yoo will return for the second season, joining new cast members Park Gyu-young, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-shim, and others.

Racers, start your engines! Paramount+ has ru-vealed the official trailer for the new “RuPaul’s Drag Race” franchise installment, “RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars,” which will premiere on the platform later this month.

The latest drag competition spinoff series will feature 12 fan favorites from “Drag Race” brands around the world who will represent their countries as they compete for the title of “Queen of the Mothertucking World,” a grand prize of $200,000, and a spot in the International Pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame.

The queens competing in the inaugural season will be Alyssa Edwards (“RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars”), Athena Likis (“Drag Race Belgique”), Eva Le Queen (“Drag Race Philippines”), Gala Varo (“Drag Race Mexico”), Kitty Scott-Claus (“RuPaul’s Drag Race UK”), Kween Kong (“Drag Race Down Under”), Miranda Lebrão (“Drag Race Brazil”), Nehellenia (“Drag Race Italy”), Pythia (“Canada’s Drag Race”), Soa de Muse (“Drag Race France”), Tessa Testicle (“Drag Race Germany”), and Vanity Vain (“Drag Race Sweden”).

The streamer also revealed the guest judges for the new series. Joining host RuPaul Charles, resident judge Michelle Visage, and director/choreographer Jamal Sims on the panel each week will be Adriana Lima, Ariadna Gutiérrez-Arévalo, Carson Kressley, Danna Paola, Dianne Brill, Graham Norton, Jasmine Tookes, Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, Matt Rogers, Ross Mathews, and Ts Madison.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars” will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ on Friday, Aug. 16 with two new episodes, followed by a new episode every Friday.
