When Stallone climbed the stairs to receive his first-ever Golden Globe win for the 2015 movie Creed, he thanked the producer of his 1976 movie Rocky that made it all happen. The actor got teary-eyed since the producer mortgaged his house to fund Stallone’s dream project in the 70s.

With his debut as the iconic character of Rocky Balboa in the 1976 movie Rocky, fans fell immediately in love with Sylvester Stallone. With a unique premise on boxing, the role was reprised by the actor in the 2015 film Creed, which served as a part of the Rocky Balboa Universe.
Sylvester Stallone starred in the 2015 film alongside Michael B. Jordan and the movie was once again praised by fans and critics alike. Sylvester Stallone even went on to win the Golden Globe Award for the category of “Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture” for Creed and the moment was truly special.
During his acceptance speech, the actor was already teary-eyed when he th anked the producers of the 1976 film Rocky. Talking about how producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff mortgaged their homes to fund Stallone’s dream, the actor felt grateful to them for having trust in a “mumbling actor” like him.
“I’m gonna try not to get emotional. I wanna thank the legendary producers Irwin Winkler and Bob Chartoff who actually mortgaged their house to take a chance on a mumbling actor and give me the shot of a lifetime”
As much as the writer is grateful, Sylvester Stallone had also been up to some antics back in the 1980s and 1990s when his infamous rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger resulted in the loss of millions of dollars in movies and box office failures!
Sylvester Stallone Influenced Commando To Change The Ending!
Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger were quick to become rivals as soon as both found fame and competed to be better than the other. Back in 1985, Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the iconic movie titled Commando. During that same year, Stallone was all set to release his iconic movie Rambo: First Blood Part II. When the director of Commando had a sneak peek at Stallone’s Rambo 2, he blew his budget by having a higher kill count which led to a forceful change in the ending of Commando.
In an interview with RadioTimes, screenwriter Steven E. de Souza blamed Stallone for indirectly ruining the ending of Commando.
“I blame Sylvester Stallone for screwing up the ending. Mark L Lester (the director of Commando) had seen a sneak peek of Rambo II and he said Stallone kills a million guys so we have to kill more guys. So what happened was, Mark went over budget putting in this giant scene where this private army gets wiped out. The random shooting of hundreds of guys was not in the script. So they burned up the budget and then said we don’t have the money to film what you wrote.”
The finale of Commando saw Arnold Schwarzenegger fighting the antagonist in a basement and killing him with a steam pipe. It has never been confirmed whether Sylvester Stallone ruined the ending knowingly or unknowingly.
