Sylvester Stallone reveals how he relaxes after work on his upcoming television series Tulsa King. Production on the new Paramount+ series reportedly began in Oklahoma in March, with Stallone set to star as New York mobster Dwight Manfredi. Produced in conjunction with MTV Entertainment and 101 Studios, Tulsa King follows the mobster’s expulsion to Tulsa, where he begins to form a new crime syndicate after serving a 25-year prison sentence.

The Rocky and Rambo star is joined by prominent period and crime actors Max Casella (The Sopranos), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), and Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). Created by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan and showrunner Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street), the series is also executive produced by Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Allen Coulter, David Hutkin, and Barden Aftergood. Tulsa King marks one of Stallone’s only major television roles, having previously featured as himself or in cameos on the likes of SNL and The Contender.

Now, in an update posted on Instagram, Stallone has revealed how he likes to relax after filming on Tulsa King, and it makes for an adorable sight. Sharing a photo of himself sprawled on the floor with one of his dogs on top of him, the 75-year-old jokes that it is “tough getting sleep around here.” He also explains what’s going on here, writing, “Me and my buddy ‘Buster’ relaxing after a day on the set of TULSA KING.” Check out the post below:

Tulsa King continues Stallone’s busy few months, having worked on projects like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Expendables 4, and Samaritan. While he may have recently lamented the fact that the Hollywood classic Rocky, which made him a household name in 1976, would never have been made in the modern-day film landscape, Stallone remains a hugely popular and highly sought-after actor. His reputation as an action veteran makes his casting an instant draw to fans of the genre, all but ensuring a certain level of success for Tulsa King regardless of its ultimate critical reception. Plus, as evidenced by his recent post, Stallone still enjoys what he does – or, he at least enjoys the part that comes after.

Joined by a host of reputable television and crime actors, Stallone’s foray onto the small screen appears geared toward success. With his latest post indicating that production is well underway, audiences can perhaps anticipate a trailer later this year to provide a closer look at Stallone’s first major television role. While information on Tulsa King has so far remained elusive, fans eager for updates can expect further news from the star himself, known for teasing his followers on social media with behind the scenes tidbits.
