Amovie set is full of quirks and preferences on the part of all members, especially performers and directors.

One of the most acclaimed figures in Hollywood is Clint Eastwood, who has spent years in front of and behind the cameras and, supposedly, will say goodbye with ‘Juror #2’. The director also has a a rather curious Coca-Cola veto dating back to the 1980s.

According to Espinof, it’s all due to ‘Karate Kid’ and its casting process.

Although everyone knows that Ralph Macchio got the lead role and stepped into the shoes of Daniel LaRusso, there were other hopefuls who fell by the wayside and lamented when they missed the opportunity.

One who was cast was Kyle Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, who at the time was trying to follow in his father’s footsteps.

A veto that still exists four decades later

Apparently, the star ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ did not like the fact that his son was rejected and, therefore, imposed a veto on Coca-Cola, then owner of Columbia Pictures, which was in charge of the film directed by John G. Avildsen.

From that moment on, no product from the beverage brand is present in his films, with Pepsi chosen instead.

Although Coca-Cola sold Columbia Pictures in 1989, that did not stop Clint Eastwood from extending his ban and maintaining it to the present day.

His son, on the other hand, transformed his career and, although he made some appearances in films and tv shows, he found his way in the music industry, becoming an important jazz bassists.

Although there will be no Coca-Cola products in ‘Juror #2’, there will be a dose of emotion, since it will be Eastwood’s farewell as a director.

Little is known about the film, which began shooting last July with Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, Zoey Deutch, Kiefer Sutherland and Leslie Bibb leading the cast.
