Costner has reportedly “finished his work” on the Western thriller, according to court documents obtained by US Weekly. His custody dispute with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner, the subject of the court documents. Those who were expected to see Costner reprise his role as John Dutton in the final episodes may be disappointed by this news. Since the previous season left off on a cliffhanger, I’m curious to see how they resolve the situation with Costner’s character in the upcoming season.

Christine Baumgartner, whose marriage to Costner lasted 18 years, filed for divorce in May. Since then, divorce has become an uphill battle. However, the divorce is final because they have settled the issue of child custody. Grace, 12, Cayden, 15, and Hayes, 14, are the children of Costner and Baumgartner. Costner was ordered to pay Baumgartner child support in the amount of $63,209 per month during the custody case. His initial salary demand of $51,900 per month was denied. Baumgartner’s current child support payment amount is $129,000 per month. She initially requested $248,000 monthly, but she lowered her request in court to $175,000.

Baumgartner sought the court for over $200,000 so that their children may maintain the same standard of living while in her care. This includes sending them on luxury school trips.

Kevin must provide Christine with enough child support so that the children can enjoy comparable holidays with both parents. This is due to the fact that when the children are with their father, they frequently fly on very pricey private jets. Baumgartner’s attorneys said in court documents obtained by US Weekly that this is true “even if Christine’s life improves as a result of the child support payments.” Christine’s request for child support of $175,057 a month is below the federal guidelines, but it will still allow her to provide a comfortable life for the children.

During her testimony, Baumgartner said, “I will look into the steps I need to take and any schooling I need to do, and I will start working.”

After the breakup rumors began to spread, Costner’s representatives issued a statement.

In a statement released in May, his representative said, “It is with great sadness that events beyond Mr. Costner’s control have led to him having to take part in a dissolution of marriage action.” We urge that during this difficult time, his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected.

The release date of “Yellowstone” has not yet been determined. The first half of Season 5 concluded on January 1, 2023.
