Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are officially married. The golden couple of Hollywood exchanged vows at the Odescalchi Castle in Italy in front of more than 150 guests.

“The wedding was absolutely amazing,” said one guest.

With thousands of fans, paparazzi and reporters gathered outside the Odescalchi Castle, Tom and Katie celebrated their wedding with family and friends.

A long-standing question is whether this Scientology-inspired wedding will be legally recognized. According to the president of the Bracciano region of Italy, TomKat still needs to have a non-religious, legal wedding to be officially recognized by the law.

“Like many couples who marry outside the United States, Tom and Katie will legalize their marriage with a non-ceremonial wedding upon their return to Los Angeles from Italy,” said an official announcement from TomKat’s representative.

This “high-profile” wedding is the happy ending of the 19-month romance between Tom and Katie. The first time Tom and Kate met was in Rome in April 2005.

Two months later, Katie, without any hesitation, used extremely nice words to talk about Tom: “I am completely conquered. I am in love. He is wonderful: kind and brave. He makes me laugh like I have never laughed before. I feel like Tom has created my life.”

The lives of both of them changed from mid-June 2005. After dinner on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Tom proposed to Katie with a 5-carat diamond ring.

“I want to marry Katie as soon as possible,” Tom announced. “You have to do what you feel is right.”

The crystallization of love, daughter Suri Cruise was born on April 18.

Before Katie, Tom had two wives. Katie was also engaged to actor Chris Klein.
