What did a foreigner say about Tom Cruise when he saw him at a restaurant? Years ago, I worked at a restaurant called Jezebel, I mean this was many years ago. I was a waiter there. It was a beautiful restaurant owned by a black woman named Alberta, one of whose sons was an actor named Michael Wright. The restaurant had a pre-war theme and one of the tables had a swing on the porch. All the waiters there were very beautiful and had a range of skin tones from very dark to very light.

There was one white waiter there and she had been there for a long time. I waited on a lot of very famous people there. The most famous people I waited on were Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who were married at the time and they were both very handsome. They were also very nice and polite. As I approached the table to introduce myself and take their drink order before I could say anything, Tom Cruise asked my name with his big smile.

He also chatted with me but can I remember any of it? No. This guy was so handsome that I was mesmerized, I am ashamed to admit that he was so handsome that he could have spoken Cantonese to me and it wouldn’t have made a difference. I was surprised that he didn’t drink, most of our money came from alcohol sales. I think we both ordered Coca-Cola.

Tom Cruise is a true gentleman and one of the nicest celebrities I have ever met. He is at the peak of his career but is still humble, thoughtful and extremely charming. He left a more than adequate tip. I am a huge fan of his movies and became an even bigger fan after serving him and his lovely wife that evening. How would I describe Tom Cruise? A class act.
