In 1992, a young Tom Cruise and his then-wife Nicole Kidman greeted Princess Diana at the London premiere of Far and Away on July 30.
Tragically, five years later, Tom Cruise and Kidman attended Princess Diana’s funeral at Westminster Abbey (London) with Tom Hanks and many other famous royal friends.
Although they were not in the same photo, at the Euro 2020 football final between Italy and England in July 2021, Cruise (sitting near Kate Moss and David Beckham) had a brief conversation with Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George a few rows away.
On May 19, 2021, Cruise led Kate Middleton down the red carpet with Prince William at the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick.
Tom Cruise and Prince William are both passionate about aviation. They both talked about their flying experiences. “We have a lot in common,” the actor said. “We both love England and we’re both pilots and we love to fly.”
Cruise and Kate had another encounter at the 2022 Wimbledon Women’s Final in London in February 2024 at a charity gala.
Prince William once told the actor: “I’ve never worn Top Gun shoes,” referring to the fancy shoes Cruise wore to the 2022 premiere of Top Gun: Maverick.
