Tom Cruise, the legendary actor known for risking his life every day for a few scenes of his movies, recently promoted a fellow legendary person and his magnum opus. Talking about Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Cruise promoted the movie which was way out of his ordinary habits.
This wasn’t completely out of the blue for the Top Gun actor, however, since he once risked his life by watching Christopher Nolan’s Tenet while the movie was screening during the pandemic times.
Tom Cruise Promoted Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer
The actor found it pretty difficult when Christopher Nolan had the rights to almost all of the IMAX screens across Northern America. As per alleged reports, Tom Cruise even tried to buy some of the IMAX screens back for his upcoming movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One but the plan apparently didn’t work.
Despite the differences, the actor recently promoted Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus by posing in front of the poster for Oppenheimer and promoting the movie. In a Twitter post, Tom Cruise was seen posing alongside Christopher McQuarrie in front of the poster of Oppenheimer while holding what seems to be tickets for the movie.
Christopher McQuarrie has been a close friend and Tom Cruise’s go-to director whenever the actor wants to star in something incredible. Although this promotion did seem strange to the people, it isn’t the first time that the American Made actor has gone to further lengths for Christopher Nolan’s movies.
Tom Cruise Went To Watch A Christopher Nolan Movie During Pandemic
Although there seems to be an underlying rivalry between Cruise and Christopher Nolan, the actor does seem to love watching Nolan’s movies. During the pandemic when theater seats were limited and Tenet was given a theatrical release, not many people were confident enough to step out at the theater screens.
In a video posted on social media, Tom Cruise went to a theater packed with moviegoers to watch Christopher Nolan‘s Tenet. During the course of the video, the actor was joined by his friend and director Christopher McQuarrie as they both went disguised with face masks to watch Nolan’s Tenet. After the movie ended, Cruise stood up and shouted: “Great to be back in a movie theatre, everybody! I loved it, I loved it”.
The actor is currently busy with the promotion of his upcoming magnum opus Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. With Tom Cruise in the lead role and Christopher McQuarrie as the director, the film is set for a release date of 12th July 2023 in theaters across the world.
