Tom Cruise will be in San Antonio to visit Fort Sam Houston ahead of the release of his latest “Mission: Impossible” film.

Cruise posted a video on X, saying he will be in town on May 22, the day before “Mission: Impossible: Final Judgment” premieres.

In the video, Cruise said he will visit Fort Sam Houston before heading to some local theaters to preview the film ahead of its official release.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, a popular film and TV review platform, the eighth installment of “Mission: Impossible” was originally going to be titled “Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2.” However, that title was changed due to the long wait to set a release date for the film.

The film was originally scheduled to be shot, edited, and released in August 2022. Due to delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the writers’ strike, the film has been pushed back repeatedly.

An official synopsis for the eighth and likely final “Mission: Impossible” film has yet to be released. Based on the trailer, it appears that the film will be a sequel to “Mission: Impossible-Dead Reckoning.”

After his trip to San Antonio, Cruise will head to Dallas to visit several more theaters to preview the film.
