Tulsa King Season 2 Potential Release Date, Cast, Plot And Everything You Need To Know

The Taylor Sheridan-verse continues to expand. On top of his Yellowstone franchise, last year mob drama Tulsa King hit our screens with action legend Sylvester Stallone starring in his first leading TV role.

In a drama worlds away from the unfolding intrigue of the Yellowstone ranch, the Paramount+ show laid the first brick in a gritty yet comedic crime-thriller universe.

We already have confirmation Stallone and ‘The General’ mob boss Dwight Manfredi will be back for a second season, but when exactly will the new episodes land and what can we expect from them?

Here’s everything you need to know…

Tulsa King season 2 potential release date: When will it air?

While we know the Stallone star vehicle will be back at some point, Paramount has yet to announce an official release date.

This remains up in the air amid the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike in the US, which has affected a number of TV productions going into the summer.

Stallone recently acknowledged the strike’s impact on the writing of the second season, while throwing his full-throated support behind the WGA as they look to strike a deal.

“It’s definitely affecting work because we can’t move forward with a lot of projects, especially Tulsa King,” he told Newsweek. “But I think it’s changed so much that the writers do have a serious gripe.

“They’re in a grievance that it’s changed. There’s not enough work to keep all these writers going and then they’re living under this cloud of AI. It’s a very terrifying time to be a writer.

“They work for our show, eight episodes, and then you’re done, and that’s it. Like, ‘What do I live on for the rest of the year?’ sort of a thing. So I understand their plight.”

Another delay could come in the form of executive producer Terence Winter’s exit from the project, after adding the co-creation of the show to an illustrious list of credits, including both The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire.

The pilot episode of Tulsa King arrived in November 2022 – it already feels like an awfully long time ago – with the final episode airing in January. However, partway through the show’s transmission, Winter stepped down as showrunner due to “creative differences”, according to Deadline. His replacement still hasn’t been confirmed.

As always, watch this space for when we get that firmed-up release date.

Tulsa King season 2 cast: Who’s in it?

Alongside Stallone’s New York mafia capo we can expect much of the cast to remain the same from the first season, since there were no major departures or even hastily-dug-dirt-hole deaths.

Stallone’s right-hand man and former legal weed dealer Bodhi (Martin Starr) should be back alongside unexpected ally Manny (Max Casella). There’s also still the loose thread of his romantic interest Stacy (Andrea Savage), who’s secretly a former ATF agent.

Here’s the full Tulsa King season-two cast list we can expect for now, although future announcements may change the players…

• Sylvester Stallone as Dwight Manfredi
• Andrea Savage as Stacy Beale
• Max Casella as Armand Truisi
• Martin Starr as Bodhi
• Domenick Lombardozzi as Chickie Invernizzi
• Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci
• Jay Will as Tyson Mitchell
• Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller
• AC Peterson as Pete Invernizzi
• Dana Delany as Margaret Deveraux

Tulsa King season 2 plot: What will happen?

The first season saw Stallone’s character sent from New York to Tulsa after a prison stint, with the task of establishing a new criminal syndicate on behalf of the Invernizzi family on the ground in Oklahoma.

However, the first season ended with Manfredi landing in the handcuffs of the law, after Stacey set him up. So there is likely legal trouble ahead for the star in season two – although no plot details have been officially confirmed.

Elsewhere on the show, although Manfredi will probably be behind bars from the outset, there’s potential for bubbling resentment to spew over after Chickie’s disrespectful decision to walk away from the family.

The TV bosses over at Paramount have also hinted that Tulsa King could go the same way Yellowstone has and explore the possibility of spin-off shows, based either around Oklahoma or the Invernizzi crime family.

Paramount’s Tanya Giles said: “The huge success we’ve had with Tulsa King and Sylvester Stallone opens up possibilities with Taylor Sheridan, who consistently, his mind works in terms of universes and backstories, so I think there’s always a possibility that there’s more to that universe and more to that story.”

Tulsa King season 2 trailer: When can I watch it?
