Yellowstone Fans Want Beth D.ead By The Series Finale

Some say that blood is thicker than water, which is true sometimes, but not all of the time when it comes to a show like “Yellowstone.” Sure, the Dutton family sticks together when they absolutely need to and their survival depends on it, but beyond this kind of situation, most of them act and behave based on their own wants and desires. The entire family marches to the beat of their own drum, but none more so than Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly).

Although Beth is a beloved character on “Yellowstone,” she is far from a redeemable or noble individual. For anybody who has spent any amount of time watching the show, Beth is usually seen being frequently aggressive, exceptionally blunt, and incredibly selfish from time to time. Just think of that moment when Beth and her husband Rip (Cole Hauser) go to a bar in Bozeman in Season 5, only for Beth to cause the entire bar to erupt in a fight when she brutally attacks a woman who was talking to Rip. Considering her behavior and actions, it seems like several “Yellowstone” fans don’t think Beth should survive the show.

Several “Yellowstone” fans have gathered over on Reddit to express their thoughts on Beth, like u/Restrictedreality, who wrote, “I think ending the series with her death would be the most poetic for the franchise. Beth dies, Rip and [Kayce] leave the ranch and John is left alone with no family and all that land that tore them apart.”

Some fans believe that the writing is on the wall for Beth Dutton

The above statement caused u/jmar1231 to reply, “I like that idea. I think Rip will outlive her, because she made him promise to. And Rip’s loss would hurt more … plus she would just spiral even more and probably try nuking the whole state in her despair.” Others were also big fans of this thought process, like u/bekah-Mc

, who thinks that Beth dying and Rip leaving would leave John Dutton (Kevin Costner) incredibly wounded, which they feel is appropriate because they think many of the worst parts of the story are caused by John’s actions.

u/Business_Engine9525 went so far as to list out six reasons as to why they don’t think Beth will make it to the end of “Yellowstone,” which are John being the governor, the constant flashbacks, Rip showing her the place of her dreams, Beth riding a horse for the first time after the death of her mother, Rip eventually being away and unable to protect her, and the constant fights with her brother Jamie (Wes Bentley). u/butzrulz also echoed this opinion, and rhetorically asked what positive qualities Beth actually has, noting that any time the character does something remotely nice, she immediately undermines herself by threatening the children of siblings or by making other kinds of hateful statements.

In other words, some audience members don’t think that Beth, despite being an interesting character, should really get a free pass to engage in heinous behavior and make it to the ending of “Yellowstone.” Whatever Taylor Sheridan has planned for the culmination of “Yellowstone,” there’s definitely a group of fans that are incredibly interested in Beth’s ultimate fate.
