This has left fans of the show wondering if there will be a Yellowstone Season 6 or not. So, if you’re looking for answers about the likely renewal status, then look no further! We’ve put together a concise summary of everything you should look forward to. Continue reading to find out whether Yellowstone will be back with Season 6 or not.

Yellowstone Season 6: What is the current status?

To get straight to the point: The answer remains a mystery right now, and speculation has been rife about the fate of the show. The fans are eagerly awaiting every update and announcement from the creators and the network, hoping to get any hints or news about the future of their beloved series. But no official confirmation about the sixth season has been verified by the network yet.

Deadline previously reported that the show may be heading to an end soon, as per the ongoing rumors it has been said that a new spin-off series starring Matthew McConaughey will take its place. The publication also alleges that the basis of the problem is a dispute with Yellowstone actor Kevin Costner over the filming schedule for the show. We would like to highlight that Costner’s lawyer, Marty Singer, refuted the assertions.

Sources have stated, Costner only planned to shoot for 50 days during the first half of the current season, despite having initially set a limit of 65 days for the filming of Yellowstone. According to insiders, Paramount Network turned down Costner’s most recent proposal and chose to go on to the other show.

The subject of the current negotiations between everyone involved is a Yellowstone franchise extension that Sheridan will script and star McConaughey in. Negotiations with the True Detective star are now underway which will be disclosed later.

On the other hand, it is unclear which members of the Yellowstone cast will transition to the McConaughey-led series, while several of the big names are anticipated to appear.

“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come. Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built. Matthew McConaughey is a phenomenal talent with whom we’d love to partner,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told Deadline.

While we’d want to suggest that there are some things that can guarantee another season, the sad truth is that a lot of that is out of anyone’s control. Moreover, after looking at all the comments by the network it is safe to say that it’s quite possible that Yellowstone will end with the second half of the current season.

We’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds which will be confirmed once the second part of the fifth season concludes in the coming months.
