Prepare yourselves, Yellowstone viewers. Lainey Wilson gave surprising details about season 5 part 2, and what she said won’t make folks too happy.
The country singer made an appearance at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, where she won Female Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year. But ahead of the ceremony, Lainey and fellow Yellowstone co-star Ian Bohen spoke with Entertainment Tonight about what’s happening with filming the latter half of season 5. While Ian shared that the show will head back to set “this summer,” Lainey had a different opinion about the proposed timeline for creating new episodes.
“I haven’t got a call yet,” she updated the outlet about the status of the drama. “But as far as I know they don’t even know when they’re going to be filming.”
While a back-to-work date isn’t set in stone for the hit Paramount Network series, Lainey said she still had a positive outlook on whether the show will continue after season 5. What’s more, she opened up about her particular role, revealing that she’s confident fans haven’t see the last of her yet.
Dedicated fans know that the “Heart Like a Truck” musician debuted on Yellowstone at the beginning of season 5. She plays Abby, an aspiring country artist who quickly becomes a love interest to Ryan, a Yellowstone Ranch hand played by Ian.
“I have a really good feeling that if they do finish things in a way that … they’re planning, I will be back in it,” Lainey told ET. “We’ll see, they haven’t taken me to the train station yet.”
As for what folks can expect from Yellowstone season 5 part 2, not much has been disclosed. But like Lainey, Cole Hauser (who plays Rip Wheeler) gave similar sentiments about the show’s filming schedule. According to him, there’s a date already in mind.
“You know, we’ll see what’s next,” he said in a recent Q&A at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo, per Express. “But right now I’m focused on giving you guys 5B, you’ve been waiting for it a little while! But we’re trying to go back to work in May so hopefully that’ll happen.”
