Exploring Blondie’s Controversial Choice To Let Tuco Flee In The Gripping Finale Of The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

In the world with no ethics and no right or wrong logic, Blondie seems to be different. He seems to have ethics. He seems to have something good in him. Though there are no examples of his good work in normal sense(other than offering a cigar to a dying soldier), we feel bad when Tuco tortures him in the desert to let him walk.

We don’t know reasons but somehow we all want Blondie’s win in all the situations, though he was the first one to break the trust all the time between him and Tuco (First he lives Tuco in the desert by untieing their partnership, then again telling a lie while naming the grave).

In the hunting of two hundred thousand dollars, Tuco was Blondie’s partner. Both helps both in their ongoing journey. Moreover, Tuco actually saved Blondie’s life (Taking him from desert and made the arrangement of his treatment). So,this long and eventful partnership may create a sympathy in the heart of Blondie ,for tuco. At the end,I think Blondie realised the importance of something more than money. At the end, I think Blondie got feelings for Tuck.

You can watch Blondie’s smile after handing the tool to dig to Tuco, before the arrival of Angel Eyes. And the smile of Blondie again, when Tuco shot the first one of the five men of Angel Eyes (including Angel Eyes). I personally found these two smiles to be highly significant. I got a feeling that Blondie ultimately got feelings for Tuco. So not only Blondie doesn’t shoot Tuco, he leaves him with his equal share of hundred thousand dollars.

“Seems just like old times,Four for you,Four for me.”

I will like to add,in all the films of this dollar series, the end shows something which has more importance and value than money and greed, even though through all the duration of the movie, there was only money, greed and selfish acts. In A fistful of dollars, The man with no name risks his own life, goes back to town, finishes the Rohos, and makes the old man free, to whom, he was a guest. He tried to return his favour.

In For a few dollars more, at the end, Colonel refuses to take his share of money. It was love for her sister. Manco previously realised something seeing the watch of his partner, and didn’t kill Indio, he lets his partner to take his revenge. All the ending was absolute masterpieces.
