We are counting down to the season finale of Farmer Wants a Wife with Sikeston’s own farmer Ty Ferrell.

Holly Brantley went to Farmer Ty’s farm in Sikeston to get the inside scoop on what went on behind the scenes.

She asked him what was the biggest challenge of shooting the show for six weeks with the ladies, plus another week for the crew to come out just to prepare.

“The biggest challenge you know it was just different. It was something that you just adjust to you all just kind of start rolling with it,” said Ferrel. “For me you just kind of got to let loose. You just kind of got to relinquish control of your everyday life because everything is scheduled and it’s not like you can just go do your day your day is being filmed so there’s a process to that.”

“Honestly there’s so many moments that don’t make TV. Like for example, the day we had the mixer here at my place and we were getting ready for my roping — the ladies came and I’ve got a water truck to water my arena and we were trying to paint that and they had white jumpsuits on and it was windy and of course me being the male and I’ve got four females and I’m trying to tell them how to paint a water truck. I had to relinquish control for that as well,” said Ferrell. “They were like, ‘Yeah we’ve got this.’ And I was like, “Yeah ladies, you’re right. You’ve got it.’”
