NCIS: Hawai’i spoilers follow.

NCIS: Hawai’i star Vanessa Lachey has broken her silence following the police procedural’s final episode.

The NCIS spin-off wrapped up after three seasons on Monday (May 6), just a few weeks after CBS announced its abrupt cancellation due to moderate viewing figures.

Bidding farewell to the show and her character Special Agent Jane Tennant, Vanessa shared an emotional statement with fans on social media after the final episode aired.

“This show meant so much to me… and more every day I find, to lots of people,” the actor wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of her character standing to attention in an aircraft hanger.

She continued: “As an AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islanders) woman, wife, mother, colleague and friend, I am more proud than ever to have been your Jane Tennant on TV.

“This journey has taught me to continue to push the envelope and break glass ceilings. I encourage you ALL to as well! Anything we dream is ours for the taking, no matter what the circumstance! A Hui Hou (a Hawaiian phrase meaning until we meet again).”

NCIS: Hawai’i’s finale ended on a major cliffhanger, with Vanessa’s Jane Tennant returning home, only to be told by Maggie Shaw (returning guest star Julie White) that her daughter Julie wasn’t there.

“Y0u’re probably going to need a drink for what’s coming next,” Maggie said ominously, before the credits rolled.

However, it looks like both Jane and fans will now be left in the dark unless the show is ever brought back.

Lachey previously said she felt “blindsided” by the decision to cancel the show, writing on Instagram: “Gutted, confused, blindsided.”

NCIS: Hawai’i aired on CBS in the US. In the UK, the show streams on Disney+.
