Finally! Paramount Announces Good News For ‘Yellowstone’ Fans

After rumors of a rift between Kevin Costner and the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, it’s not really a surprise that the second half of season 5 will be its swan song.

Scheduled to premiere in November, the back half of season 5 of Yellowstone has yet to begin filming. While Sheridan has written a bulk of the episodes, the current writers’ strike prohibits any of the staff writers to work so we expect some scenes will likely be written days or even hours before they film when production begins.

So what’s a Yellowstone fan to do for the next six months? While most Yellowstone fans have seen the two prequel series, 1883 and 1923, both which stream exclusively on Paramount+, many have not. Viewers will get a chance to watch 1883 in its entirety soon when it airs on Paramount Network.

Starting on Sunday, June 18 at 8 p.m. ET, 1883 will be broadcast on Paramount Network. Episodes will drop weekly on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET and will also include extended featurettes from the series.

Here’s everything we know about 1883’s run on Paramount Network.

Yes and no. The Dutton family story continues after 1883 but with a new generation of Duttons. 1923 is technically season 2 of 1883 and stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton. What happened in 1883?

As the Duttons and the immigrants travel on the Oregon Trail with Shea and Thomas to lead the way they come across all sorts of trials.
