Here’s When And Where Yellowstone Season 5 Will Be Streaming

“Yellowstone” is coming to an end and dads everywhere are sure to be very upset. The most-watched show of 2022 has been a huge success, spawning multiple spin-offs and prequel series, all overseen by the prolific Taylor Sheridan. And now the series that started it all is coming to an end.

But there’s still a way to go before things wrap up, with the series’ fifth season currently on a mid-season break. After a tense cliffhanger episode, and the announcement that Kevin Costner would be leaving the series altogether, fans will now have to come to terms with the fact the back half of season 5 will comprise the final episodes of “Yellowstone.” If recent reports are accurate, Matthew McConaughey will then take a rest from his foray into becoming a self-help guru to lead the “Yellowstone” sequel series — though his casting remains unconfirmed at this point.

Until then, we’ve got six more episodes of “Yellowstone” to go. And if you’re wanting to catch up on the Dutton family and their cattle ranching exploits before the whole thing comes to an end, there are multiple ways to do so. In fact, the whole question of how to watch this series is almost as convoluted as its network of various prequels and spin-offs. But fear not, as we’re here to herd you through the harsh landscape of modern streaming platforms.

Where to watch Yellowstone season 5 part 1

“Yellowstone” airs on the Paramount Network, which you might think means you can watch season 5 on the Paramount+ streaming service. But you’d be wrong. At present, the only place to catch up on season 5 is the Paramount Network app or website, both of which require a cable account to sign in. But that will soon change.

Back in 2020, NBCUniversal managed to secure streaming rights to “Yellowstone,” before Paramount could launch its own service. Paramount+ didn’t debut until 2021, which means NBCUniversal’s Peacock is the current streaming home for the show. And on May 25, 2023, season 5 part 1 will hit the platform, with the first eight episodes being made available to stream alongside all four previous seasons already available on the service. If you’re looking to catch up on “Yellowstone” season 4 ahead of streaming the fifth installment, Peacock is the place to go.

Of course, you’ll need a Peacock account to access the episodes. Alternatively, you can buy individual episodes or entire seasons from the usual platforms: Apple TV, Prime Video, VUDU, Google Play, or Microsoft. Episodes are going for $1.99, while seasons will cost you $19.99.

When is Yellowstone season 5 part 2 coming out?

Now you know where to catch up with the first part of season 5, you might be wondering when you’ll be able to catch the final six episodes. Well, that’s a little complicated. Initially tipped to debut in Summer 2023, Deadline has now confirmed that the second half of season 5 will arrive in November. But that could change, too.

Deadline’s article claimed that it’s unclear “whether all remaining ‘Yellowstone’ scripts have been completed.” And with the writers’ strike ongoing, all eyes are on series co-creator and showrunner Taylor Sheridan, who has yet to show his support for the WGA. Will Sheridan shut production down, à la the Duffer Brothers and “Stranger Things” season 5? That remains to be seen. But either way, “Yellowstone” season 5 part 2 has, by all accounts, yet to start filming, making that November release target highly tentative.

As per the Deadline report, the plan is for “Yellowstone” to wrap up before year-end, right before the Matthew McConaughey-starring sequel series launches in December. But at this stage, everything’s up in the air. Either way, when season 5 part 2 does debut, it’ll air on the Paramount Network before streaming on Peacock.
