Still enjoying their secret romance, Remi and Bree make their excuses on the beach. Kirby realises Bree has left her sunglasses behind. Theo urges Kirby not to go after Bree and just send her a text instead.

At home, Remi suggests that maybe it’s time they just went public as a couple again. Bree is reticent, but before she can elaborate, they’re interrupted by Kirby, who is returning the sunglasses. They lie about Remi lending her a book, but Kirby is suspicious and it doesn’t take long for her to trick Theo into confirming.

Theo swears Kirby to secrecy – confirming that no-one else knows, and he promised Remi and Bree that he’d keep their secret. Kirby can’t help herself and soon admits to the couple that she knows the truth.

While Remi is relieved, Bree is bothered by how quick he was to validate the rumour. Her bristling raises the question – is she having second thoughts?

Meanwhile, when Leah and Marilyn worry about Irene following the damning Coastal News article, John covers that she has a cold but she’s actually at an AA meeting. Leah doesn’t seem convinced that John is giving her the full story.

Elsewhere, Mali is stressed over the locked bag from Dingo and is momentarily tempted to confide in Cash, but he hesitates. Instead, he reaches out to Tane for support. Unfortunately, Tane’s approach to the locked bag is reckless and he attempts to break through the lock. Without success, Mali decides he simply needs time to think of a plan. He advises Tane to forget he ever had any involvement.

Also today, Tane is looking into schooling options for Perri, but Harper urges caution – maybe talk to him before rushing in. Reflecting on his troubled history with Carl, Tane muses that some people just don’t deserve to be parents. It’s a loaded comment for Harper, who still hasn’t told him about her pregnancy.

Later, at the Diner, Harper overhears Theo venting to John about the burden of keeping secrets. With that in mind, yet again, she works up the nerve to tell Tane about the baby. Yet again, she finds it difficult to pull Tane’s attention away from the topic of Perri.

Tane admits Perri is pretty much all he’s been thinking about. On that note, she tries to dash, but this time, Tane can tell that she didn’t get everything off her chest. Before he can get the truth out of her, she faints.
