“Hold On” is featured on his upcoming studio album, and it is one of the two tunes that Grimes didn’t write for that musical effort. It is a heartfelt neo-traditional country ballad, where Grimes showcases his rich, rumbling voice. It ought to be enjoyed for its beauty, honesty, and simplicity. “Hold On” stands out lyrically, vocally, and melodically.
Grimes’ audience is bound to find the song relatable, especially anybody that has ever had their heart broken. It deals with the fear of falling for somebody too deeply because one can ultimately get hurt.
On April 30, Grimes will be making his debut at the Stagecoach Festival.
If “Hold On” is any indication of how his new album is going to sound like, then it is safe to say that it will be promising.
A native of Ohio, Grimes was inspired musically by such diverse artists as Willie Nelsen, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, and the late Townes Van Zandt.
As an actor, Luke Grimes is known for his role as Kayce Dutton in the hit television series “Yellowstone” on Paramount+.
