Vanderpump Rules season 11 introduced a new supporting character into the group: Tom Sandoval’s assistant, Ann Maddox. Ann has been featured in most of the episodes of the season thus far, either seen cleaning up after Sandoval or chatting with Ariana Madix in their shared home. When season 11 was filmed, Ann was Sandoval and Ariana’s point of communication. Ariana did not want to film with Sandoval or directly communicate with him during the season (and off-camera). Ann served as the buffer between the couple in the most hectic time immediately after Scandoval.
Throughout Vanderpump Rules season 11, Ariana has questioned Ann’s job. When Ariana reached out to Ann, letting her know she was looking to hire an assistant, Ann was visibly excited about the potential opportunity. Ann asked Ariana if she could be in the running for the role, and episode 10 of Vanderpump Rules season 11 saw the two sit down for an informal interview. This upset Sandoval and he reportedly fired Ann after she interviewed with Ariana. While she worked with Sandoval, Ann performed miscellaneous motherly-like tasks, but she’s moved on from working for one of the reality stars.

Though Ann entered the VPR zeitgeist during season 11, she has worked for Sandoval for quite some time. While some viewers believe Vanderpump Rules should end with season 11 after a lackluster season, Ann’s job as Sandoval’s assistant has interested viewers.Ann’s LinkedIn shows that she started working for Tom Sandoval Inc. in December 2020. Before becoming Sandoval’s assistant, Ann worked as a transcriber and post-production assistant for different reality television companies. She, too, started working at the Greek Theatre as a server and VIP host in March 2018.
Ann became Sandoval’s assistant after posting on Facebook that she was looking for a job when Ariana’s friend reached out to her. “I posted on Facebook that I was looking for a job, and a mutual friend of Ariana’s responded,” she told Bustle. “One phone interview later, I was hired!” As Sandoval’s assistant, Ann has been tasked with cleaning up a party, gluing a phallic-shaped flute together, and serving as the primary communicator between Sandoval and Ariana. Many have speculated about the terms of her job description, as it seems Ann is more of a mother-like figure than an assistant.

Ahead of her Vanderpump Rules season 11 debut, Ann announced on Instagram she would be launching her podcast, We Signed An NDA. Amanda Lifford, who formerly worked on Nick Viall’s The Viall Files podcast, serves as Ann’s co-host. Ann and Amanda began the podcast to shed light on their lives, working as personal assistants. During their podcast episodes, they recap Vanderpump Rules episodes, chat with special guests, and share their experiences working in the industry. Since season 11 premiered, Ann has been incredibly honest in sharing her experience working in such an unusual environment between two exes.

On her podcast, Ann revealed she felt uncomfortable with some of the things Sandoval asked her to do post-Scandoval. She slammed Sandoval for drama with Raquel Leviss after their affair was revealed. “When [Raquel] was in her mental health treatment facility…they were corresponding via letters,” Amanda Lifford said. “Tom Sandoval told Rachel, ‘Send them to my house…My assistant will get it.’” Ann was not happy about being brought into the drama, and she responded, “My response to that is, ‘*****, I don’t work on Saturdays!’ I’m your girl Friday, but I don’t work on Saturdays. That’s the end of that.”

Ann & Ariana Have Teased A Potential Working Relationship
During Vanderpump Rules season 11, episode 10, Ariana briefly interviewed Ann for the assistant role. Ariana told Ann during the episode that she didn’t want to “poach” her and that maybe it wasn’t the right time for them to work together. Later in the episode, Ariana revealed Sandoval allegedly got angry with Ann after she interviewed for the position and fired her. Ann has kept the status of her employment private, and Ariana has teased that we’ll find out more about where Ann is working later in the season on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“No, I don’t have an assistant, but there will be some developments,” she told Andy. Aside from working as Sandoval’s assistant, Ann is an actor and comedian. She has acted in several TV shows, including an episode of The Office, two episodes of 2 Broke Girls, and The Catechism Cataclysm (via IMDB). Since appearing on VPR, she can be seen posting her reactions to season 11 on her Instagram account. It’s clear Ann is an avid member of Team Ariana, and only time will tell if she’s going to be working for her in the future.
