For all of you who have chronically complained about the fusillades of F-Bombs dropped by Kevin Costner, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and other members of the Yellowstone cast — we’ve got some great news. CBS will begin airing in September “edited” episodes of the Taylor Sheridan-produced hit series on Sunday nights, starting with Season One.

Reruns of the popular drama will help the network fill gaps in strike-impacted fall season.

For all of you who have chronically complained about the fusillades of F-Bombs dropped by Kevin Costner, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and other members of the Yellowstone cast — we’ve got some great news.

Because the ongoing strikes by writers and actors will indefinitely delay production of new scripted programming for the fall season, CBS has made several adjustments to its planned prime-time lineup. Expect more unscripted competition and game shows, expanded news shows, and repurposed programming originally produced for Paramount Network and Paramount+ (which are owned, like CBS, by Paramount Global).

And yes, Yellowstone is going to be among the repurposed. And revised.

On Paramount Network, Yellowstone has freely employed profanity (and occasional nudity) not allowed on broadcast television. But according to showbiz trade paper reports Monday, CBS will begin airing in September “edited” episodes of the Taylor Sheridan-produced hit series on Sunday nights, starting with Season One.

The Hollywood Reporter explained: “In weeks when the network doesn’t have an NFL doubleheader, two episodes will air starting at 8 p.m.; in doubleheader weeks, it will expand ‘60 Minutes’ to an hour and a half and have a single ‘Yellowstone’ at 9 p.m., leading into the Sunday ‘Big Brother.’”

How long will this go on? That depends on when the strikes end, and production can resume. But keep in mind: The first season of Yellowstone consisted of only nine episodes. So it seems like a fairly safe bet that CBS will keep the show in place for at least a couple months. After that? Who knows?

Meanwhile, back at the Dutton Ranch: The longer the strike continues, the longer it will be until production can start on the “final cycle” of Season Five Yellowstone episodes scheduled to air on Paramount Network. Right now, the series is set to return in November. Maybe it will. Maybe it won’t.
