When rumors swirled around Kevin Costner departing the Yellowstone ranch for good, it left a horse shoe-sized whole in fans’ hearts. Luckily, that longing won’t last much more… The actor just dropped a hint to his latest project (and it involves reuniting with old friends).

Looks like the Yellowstone actor subtly shared important career news on Instagram back in October 2022. Kevin posted a throwback photo of himself with Morgan Freeman from filming 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. He wrote as the caption: “Excited for another adventure with my friend @morganfreeman.”

On the next slide of the same post, he broke the news that the two were gearing up for a new project together. A headline read that they would produce a series dubbed The Gray House.

Kevin Costner fans seemed overjoyed by the prospect of the two actors reuniting. “Amazing! Robin Hood is a true classic. This will be excellent. 👏,” one person wrote in the comments. “Oh yes!! Two favorite actors,” another added. “So looking forward to this movie The Gray House and Horizon,” a different person replied, nodding to the actor’s latest directorial and acting role in the two-part movie.

According to Deadline, The Gray House is a Civil War spy drama series in the works for Paramount. It tells the story of the three unsung women who General Ulysses S. Grant credited as helping the North win the Civil War, per the outlet. A Richmond socialite and her daughter, a formerly enslaved African-American, and a courtesan build the first successful female spy ring right under the noses of the Confederate High Command.

With a script done and dusted, the series has begun filming in Eastern Europe. The Gray House is also the latest high-profile project to land an “interim agreement” amid the SAG-AFTRA strikes, joining more than 60 movies and series. It essentially allows independent productions with no direct ties to members of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to continue filming.

While it’s still unconfirmed whether folks can expect to see Kevin reprise his role as John Dutton in Yellowstone season 5, part two, we’ll surely be looking out for these projects!
