Say what you want about Yellowstone (and its many spinoffs), but the fandom runs deep. Think bottom of the ocean—to the moon and back again!—deep. Since its premiere in 2018, the western drama has garnered a limitless bout of support from loyalists who love the series and its star-studded cast. Just ask Tim McGraw, the country singer who side-hustled as the star of 1883. Clearly, the man’s fame has only grown since joining the show.

In 2021, McGraw entered the Yellowstone universe, when the prequel 1883 premiered. On the show, McGraw plays James Dutton, alongside his wife, Faith Hill, who stars as Margaret Dutton. Prior to his run on the series, McGraw was known for his famous country songs—but now, his fandom has evolved to include Yellowstone fans as well. Most recently? McGraw has seen an outpouring of support for his latest album, Standing Room.

Stand ing Room (out now) is McGraw’s 16th album. According to the 56-year-old star, it’s his best work yet. Ahead of the album premiere, he promoted it on Instagram and shared his inspiration for the record. “After everything that happened in the world over the past few years… it made me want to find and record more meaningful, life-affirming songs,” he wrote. “This album came out of it, and I truly think it’s the best project we’ve ever made (I feel like I say that every time but as an artist, I want to work to get better with every record and I’m really proud of this one).”

Fans quickly flocked to the comments section to celebrate the project. One person wrote, “Tim, I love that you let your heart be the guide for what songs you chose to sing. The world definitely needs more meaningful, life affirming songs to inspire us to be better humans. Thank you!”

Season Two of 1883 has not been confirmed, but Standing Room can hold fans over until McGraw is back on the ranch. While we wait for his return to television, McGraw is preparing for the Standing Room Tour, which kicks off in March.
